At Adifund, we bring together the African diaspora and friends of Africa, pooling their capital and expertise to scale Africa’s businesses, build infrastructure, and accelerate Africa’s transformation. Our pragmatic roadmap to accelerate Africa’s transformation guides our strategies, decisions and actions. We operate with integrity and hold ourselves accountable to the community.

Our Background and what we stand for

The idea of Adifund was born when a group of us from different countries came together to discuss a simple question: How might we create a greater and lasting impact for Africa? From the very beginning of our conversations, we could clearly see that Africans around the world already had what it takes to build Africa: ingenuity, capital, wisdom, expertise, and deep love for the continent. What we needed was a way, a structure, to connect the dots.

Adifund is that structure. Built on trust and the shared purpose to design and build the Africa we want: one of peace, harmony, happiness, and abundance. Here are some of Adifund’s design choices and why we made them.

Trust

We earn and expand trust in everything we do. Every governance decision is visible to every member. Every financial record is open and auditable. We keep our promises, operate with integrity, and hold ourselves accountable to the community. This enables everyone to know they can rely on us to do what we say, and to always do the right thing.

Independence

We fund our operations through our own earnings. This independence allows us to make decisions that truly serve Africa without donor constraints or conflicts of interest and keeps our focus on building rather than fundraising.

We vet every member

We carefully review every profile to ensure prospective members share our mission to build Africa. We welcome sincere, honest people committed to the continent’s future, keeping our energy focused on building what matters most.

Transparency

100% member owned and operated: Adifund is fully owned and run by its members. Each member has one vote, and together members make all key decisions, including what we allocate capital to, how and where we engage, and how Adifund operates.

Accessible

For $3,000 per year, anyone dedicated to Africa’s growth can become an Adifund member, encouraging broad-based participation. Capping annual contributions at $3,000 prevents a small group of people from contributing disproportionately and dominating decisions.

Flexible

Members can pay their $3,000 annual contribution upfront or in installments: $1,500 every six months, $750 quarterly, or $250 monthly. This flexibility allows more people, including younger professionals and students, to take part in building Africa.

Excellence

We deliberately avoid duplicating capabilities that already exist across Africa or within our global community. Instead, we leverage and integrate with Africa’s existing capabilities to build a broader, more powerful ecosystem. This creates multiplier effects and ensures all our energy goes into accelerating Africa’s growth and strengthening its systems and communities.
